Orthomen Ankle Foot Orthosis Support - AFO Splint - Drop Foot Brace (M-Left)

I have several braces for drop foot. The latest was an $1800 orthopedic brace. This cheap plastic one works just as well!

There's probably a video out there showing how to put this gadget on/off. I should have watched it as I did a lot of cussing over 10-15 trying to get it on. Felt like it pinched my foot but it really didn't By the third time I was donning it in 30 seconds. I've had it on for several hours as I write this and have to look down to see if it's still there. I don't notice it as I walk but neither do I drag my toes which can cause tripping. When I take them off I do notice as I'm more trip prone. I won't be going one-on-one with Caitlin Clark anytime soon, but the incremental improvement is well worth the modest cost. Good call by my PT.

product is too weak, flexes and does accommodate the foot, need to make sturdier and a bit wider, difficult to put on and a struggle to take, velcro is very powerful- took almost 30 mins to take off. I suffered from a stroke with foot drop and this item does not meet the necessary specifications.I am sorry

Functional brace, fit well, performed well. Only drawback is the Velcro attachment. The fixed part is connected with a rivet, and without two hands, or even with two, is difficult to separate from the loop part.

Needs and desires vary hugely in AFO drop foot braces. You must evaluate your needs.This unit is light, thin and inexpensive. Many AFOs offered on Amazon provide more support and use more elaborate construction. Call this device "cheaply made" if you like. But it will slip into many types of shoes and provides moderate, somewhat flexible support. It disappears into a pant leg.Because this design permits some dorsiflexion, it may allow more normal walking and driving. It does for me, at 185 pounds. Stiffer devices may be designed to prevent all dorsiflexion. These can make it more difficult to achieve a normal walking gait or operate pedals for driving. However, a stiffer device may be needed for heavy persons, or those needing complete support for other reasons.

The sizes don't compare to the charts

I purchase these for my fiance who has mobility issues with one leg, due to a broken back. He likes that they are lightweight and fit easily into his shoe, without adding excess bulk like some other braces do.
