I used the heart the first night we brought our baby home and put him to bed in the crate. He doesn't need the heart or warmers, but I was glad to have the product just in case of separation anxiety from mom. He does sleep with it and likes it for a toy. I have washed and dried it once; the fur sticks to the Velcro. I wouldn't buy the product.

I really like this product. It kept my new maltese puppy feeling safe for the first few days in our home. After those first few days she started to drag it around the house rather than sleep next to it! The oodle one that I have does malt a little when first out of the packet, I suggest shaking it until no more hair is coming off before giving it to your puppy. I haven't had to wash it so do not know how it would stand up to that. The heartbeat lasted about two weeks on one set of batteries with 24/7 use. Overall I'd recommend this product for anyone getting a new puppy.

I read tons of the reviews here and ordered the Snuggle for our puppy when she came home. I got the "doodle" version because our pup has fluffy, predominately white-colored fur, too. This toy is terrific!! We did briefly try the heartbeat in it, but it was a little loud for our puppy (who is a tall Coton de Tulear, so small/medium). However, we used the hand warmers for the first week and that was terrific! We live in Colorado, so we were easily able to grab more hand warmers to cover the first week and just used one a night. Our puppy instantly snuggled up to her Snuggles the first night and has every night since. She was nearly 9wks when we got her and will be 13 wks tomorrow and still loves Snuggles, even without any "tricks" now in the velcro pouch! It was a tremendous help, especially since our pup left a wonderful home with five adult dogs and five sibling puppies we knew she missed very much.A TIP: This is not a play toy. If you just give your puppy this stuffed toy without supervision, you can expect normal puppy things to happen - specifically, they'll treat it like a toy and probably tear it up. It's very well-made, but no stuffed animal is permanently safe around puppies. Give this toy to your puppy at night, to ONLY have in his or her crate. In the morning, the puppy comes out and so does the toy. They meet up at bedtime later. By following this, our puppy not only (and thanks to a wonderful family who raised her) was able to hold 7 hrs the first night and 8 hours by the end of the first week(!), but also loves her bed/crate and doesn't whine when she sees Snuggles. Seeing Snuggles means it is "bedtime." She will "play" just a little bit with it some nights, but then quickly curl up on it. We often spot her draped over Snuggles or with her paw around it. It's very sweet and, we believe, an excellent toy to help ease the stress of losing siblings and family.

This was as ordered - very soft and I thought it would be just the thing for a 10 wk old puppy used to sleeping with all his litter mates. The first time I gave it to him, though, he came away with a mouthful of fur. The fur was so loosely attached to this toy that I was afraid he'd choke on it and finally had to take it away. Don't waste your money.

Bringing home a new puppy can be traumatic especially when the breeder has not kennel trained or socialized them. My little guy not only had to get used to a new home, but he was flown in and then had a 2 hour car trip to get to his new home. I expected several nights of crying and little sleep for me on his first week in his new home. I saw the Smart Pet Snuggle Puppy and ordered it early enough to have it for his first night home. It worked! No crying and he slept for several hours before I took him out to potty. He no longer needs the heat and beating heart for comfort but he sleeps each night in his kennel using the Snuggle Puppy as a pillow. I expected him to chew on it and he is teething but so far he has not used it as a teething toy.

The material comes away very easily, would not want to risk washing it for fear it would fall apart. Maybe one of the others has different material choice. Batteries run out extremely quickly, only one heat pack.

It's a perfect item for 'just brought home' puppies. Do not get the white shaggy one, as after a week it becomes a white shaggy mess all over your pup's kennel. The concept works beautifully, but after a while, the puppy wants to find the heart and the heating element. Not a good combination!

Good idea but did not work for our new puppy.

When you purchase this it's either going to work for your pup or it isn't! My sister got a puppy a few weeks after me and swore by the Snuggle Pet and is the one who convinced me to buy it. I didn't think we really needed it as my puppy didn't have a problem leaving her Mum - the only time I felt she could do with the comfort was when she was in a crate or left alone for short periods of time. So I gave into my sister who had gone on for weeks about the Snuggle Pet. (Honestly she should be on commission!)Well, as suspected, it was completely useless for little Beau. All she did was bark and growl at it when the heart-beat was on. What a waste of money! Eventually I took the heart out and for the last few months she uses it to play with - infact it has become one of her favourite toys. But it's a pretty expensive dog toy! So I'm giving this 4 stars based on the fact this worked so well for my sister's dog. But it really does depend on your dog so make sure you can really afford it before buying.

I never normally write reviews but feel that this product deserves one.Our 8 week old puppy would not sleep come night time, he would be crying, howling etc every 20 minutes, resulting in me and my partner having no sleeping, thinking shall we leave him, shall we go to him, shall we bring him up to us. We did everything people had recommended, yet nothing worked. I come across the Snuggle Pet (which we received very quickly using the express service - thankfully) and we used it for the first time last night. I must say, a miracle happened, he slept from 9:00pm to 2:00am (waking up to go a toilet) and then I had to wake him up at 6:00am. As soon as he felt the heartbeat he instantly placed his head on the belly.When purchasing the Snuggle Pet and reading the reviews, I was thinking it is going to be a waste of money, seriously how can a cuddly toy help a dog sleep - just shows never judge a book by its cover.This product should be advertised a lot more for people struggling to get their puppy to sleep.Excellent product!!!!!

Useless! Really badly made, strips of the outer fabric hanging off. The heat pad only works once and doesn't stay warm for very long. And as for the ticking heart beat... it's loud and vibrates harshly. It's a brilliant idea but is very badly executed. For the money you could buy a well made teddy, a reusable heat pad and a clicking clock!

This snuggle pet was a good purchase. The heartbeat is a bit on the loud side but the warming idea was really great for when we first brought our puppy home. He is now 3 1/2 months old and still loves to snuggle and play with it. I would definitely recommend this product and the seller.

This doodle is snuggled up to everynight with the packs and heartbeat on. We've had no problems with our puppy whose now 9 weeks missing her 4 brothers and sister and mum and dad. She lies with her head on him with the heartbeat on and the warming pads in. I chose doodle because this was the same colour as her dad who is a toy poodle, her mums a yorkiepoo so thought this one would be ideal for her. She even lies with it by her during the day after she's had her mad hours running around chasing toys. I cannot fault the snuggle pet which is an ideal companion for a puppy. Could'nt believe how quick it came as i only ordered it in the afternoon and it was here next day. Thank you so much.
