Excellent all-around thermostat that works well with multiple smart home systems
Unlike most of the reviewers, I did not receive this product for free. That being said, this is a wonderful addition to my smart home! It was pretty easy to setup the hardware. I didn't have the C wire with my old thermostat, but there was an extra wire in the bundle so I connected that to the C wire slot on my furnace and then hooked it up to the Ecobee so I didn't have to use the adapter. The looks are fantastic. It's almost like a small piece of art on my wall. Just like in the product image, it shows big numbers of the current temp that you can read from across the room, and when you walk by it the screen changes to tell you what the set temp is.Software setup was easy as well. There's a guide that takes you through the process. The built-in schedule is a bit limited but I don't use that anyway. I paired it with HomeKit so I can say things like "Hey Siri, what's the temperature in there?", or "Turn up the heat". I also connected it with my SmartThings hub as they've recently added native support for this. The connection with SmartThings is great and allows me to set rules like [when everyone leaves the house, drop the temp to 62] and [when someone arrives heat to 69].Added bonus, my state energy trust has a $50 rebate on purchase of a smart thermostat. So check for local/state incentives!

General Contractor approved! Saves money on power bill!
Love this thermostat! I am a General Contractor and I have installed the Nest and now the Ecobee and I personally like the Ecobee better. First, if you don't have a C wire then it already comes prepackaged with a device to work around the problem easily, though I chose to just run a 5 wire cable, to replace the 4 wire, instead for my installation. But the interface is great to work with and the app on my iPhone along with the ability to work with Apple HomeKit and Siri is wonderful! This thermostat knocked $30 off my monthly power bill in the dead middle of Georgia Summer! I compared to my billing and usage of last year and usage is down! Another advantage over the Nest is programing your schedule. The Nest has to have each day of the week programmed individually. So say you want Monday-Friday to be the same, you have to set each day one by one. Ecoboee allows you to "Copy" a day over to other select days once you make a set schedule for that particular day. Saves a lot of time! The Nest is a great thermostat, but for the money, I would but an Ecobee over a Nest anyway.

Had bedrooms that used to be a nightmare to keep heated / cooled - this is helping a lot!
So,far great. I have two zones. The one zone is for all the bedrooms. This is bad because the thermostat is in the back bedroom but the front bedrooms have wild temperature differences. With the Ecobee, I can put sensors in all the rooms and it does its best to keep all the rooms in the desired range - but only if it detects people in those rooms. Since one room is an office and one is guest room, this is perfect. They will still be different, but not as wildly different. Also, when I'm home alone the office is staying a much better temperature, and at the end of day the master bedroom is better - all without having to micromanage the thermostat. It is important to note that they are still only a single zone, so the HVAC is either on or off, but it detects what room people are in and tries to keep all those rooms inside the desired range. So if the master bedroom with the thermostats is fine, but the office is hot, if someone is in the office and not in the master, it will turn on the air. The master may be overly cool - but who cares, nobody is in there.I got an Ecobee lite for the other zone. Not because I needed it for the sensors, but because I was so happy with the first zone. For this zone, I just like that I can control it with my phone and it detects if we aren't home and saves us energy - so also great.I was nervous about the install. However, the phone app walks you through it step by step it was EASY!!Amazon echo setup easy. More of a novelty, but fine. Also hooked up easily to Smart Things hub - haven't yet explore what I can do with that yet.Overall, I'm thrilled.

Great product design & packaging, great service, affordable alternative to Nest!
So glad to have found this!Got a highrise condo that it not always occupied. I have two zones with their individual thermostats. I have to remotely power cycle the A/C system as the condo performs maintenance on the A/C infrastructure. Before, I had to ask neighbors, etc. to check out for me. It was always a hassle.I also wanted real-time access and history of temp and humidity, so I can spot if one of the heat pumps is failing.Enter Ecobee Lite 3.I recommend first downloading their phone app, which is GREAT as it walks you through your specific thermostat hookup. In my case, I have the magical "C" wire - which provides power to the thermostat so I was good to go and ordered the first one. After installation and setup of the first Ecobee - which took less than 30 minutes, most of it messing with the drywall - the system was up and running flawlessly. I immediately ordered the second unit and now have both of them working great!I can control the units four ways: On the thermostat itself, Using the Web Portal, via the Phone App and via HomeKit - as they directly plug into the Apple homekit environment. So I can ask "Siri, what is the living room temperature" and get an answer immediately, and alter thermostat settings as needed - by voice. I undertstand this plugs into Alexa as well, which I do not have.Siri/Homekit is nice to have but I prefer using Ecobee Web Portal and App for remote management.Up and running for a week, great so far.The only minor thing is the "Local Weather" widget of the thermostat does not appear to be able to receive my local weather consistently. That is not crucial but would be nice to stabilize that edge functionality over time.
