Replacement Patio Heater Heat Shield (Square) - Glass Tube Heat Shield with 3 Pre-Drilled Holes - Compatible with Gardensun BFC-A-SS Propane Gas Patio Heater and Other 4-Sided Glass Tube Heaters

A windy day blew my patio umbrella across the yard knocking over my heater. I need to replace the quartz tube and the heat shield. The original heat shield was pretty flimsy they never looked that symmetrical, it always looked a little banged up even though it wasn’t. This replacement seems a few millimeters thicker which made it more durable, although I would pay $1 billion more if they were just ship this thing without the blue plastic over it. Like a few other said the screw holes didn’t line up but that was easy enough to fix by drilling new ones using the old shield as a template.

The heat shield was made of good quality aluminum that fit our existing heater that blew down in the last extremely windy day we had. The only issue with this new heat shield was that it didn't fit exactly with our old heater. I had to drill a couple of new holes to match. Not the manufactures fault, it was the one recommended by the company that we bought the original heater from.

Looks nice but the bolt pattern didn't line up with my heater. Had to drill new holes to make work.

The pre-drilled holes in the top do not line up with the holes on the heater. The new top was supposed to fit on the heater. As it says it is not eligible for a return. Not right!

Bought this Replacment Patio Heater Heat Shield to replace a damaged shield or reflector on a Living Accents deck heater (Model #SRPH33A-XXXX). First, in my situation, apart from the existing shield having been mangled, one of the the "mounting" posts had completely torn through the shield. Read very carefully at the end of the listing (Product Description) and you will read that mounting hardware is not provided and suggesting you "purchase an identical set from the hardware." Good luck with finding that - a snowball's chance in hell at best. With some effort I was able to re-use the existing mounting hardware. Second, Capalmy did not see fit to include a copy of their instructions in the packaging (so, refer to the Product Description in the Amazon listing instead) - not a deal breaker, but a nuisance and a lack of awareness of how the average consumer is going to go about using their product. Finally, the picture in the listing infers that peeling off the "Blue Protective Film" is a straightforward proposition. In fact, it is practically glued to each of the provided panels AND it is particularly difficult to completely remove the film where it meets the "curled edge" of the non-center panels - it seems as though in the manufacturing process they applied the film first and THEN they created the curled edge. I've taken a lot of protective plastic film off of various products and this was easily the worst. Apart from the foregoing, the shield does perform its intended function.
