High Quality, Affordable.
I remember when I first got in to Dragon Ball, my local store was charging $20.00 a book and they were the crappy censored versions. These paper back collected volumes are pretty nice, affordable and is probably the less censored version of the manga you'll be able to find outside of it's home country. The quality of the paper in the book isn't the best, but at $10.00 a book, I can look past that.

Very happy!! Will buy the rest of the series
I have only one negative to say about this product/purchase experience, it took a little longer to arrive than my normal packages.. Other than that I have 0 complaints.. I'm completely new to Dragonball, I've seen a couple episodes of the various Anime shows but never had the chance to really get into it, I now have the time to delve into this world. I love the value only about 15 bucks for a lot of content, it has the 3 volumes in one but to me one of the best parts of these are the "extras" that it contains.. For example the "Title Page Gallery" towards the back of the book that contains all the original title cover page art from their "original serialization in _Weekly Shonen Jump_ magazine in Japan from 1984 to 1985".. So overall I'm very happy and I will be buy the rest of the series, hopefully the others come a little faster. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Fun to read
My son and I just finished watching the nine seasons of Dragonball Z. He wanted to learn about the previous stories that are referred through the series and I was looking for an easy summer read for him. He devoured this three volumes edition in three days.Recommended for fans of the series.

Good Condition
Bought this to read the manga first hand, despite having seen the anime already. Makes a great showcase on my mantle now.

Pretty good!
Pretty good story! But only complaints that I have is that it’s a little damage around the edges, and at times the printing Quality seems very blurry. But other then that, it’s very good!

Depends on what you are looking for
For the record, I have previously bought the Vizbig version of this manga. As such, I feel that I am in a unique situation to compare the two versions with one another.StoryThis is the classic Dragon Ball story from Goku meeting Bulma up to the point where Kuririn defeats Bacterian in the 21st Tenka'ichi Budokai. This leads to about a 2 hour read, plenty of material for what you are paying for. This is the same amount of story that you get with the Vizbig volume. I find many of the jokes to be humorous, though some of the jokes in this part of the manga can be risque and crude. If that isn't for you, then avoid this part of the story.ArtThe art in here is really nice. The characters are iconic and the world is fully realized through its characters, creatures, and backgrounds. The only down grade present when compared to the Vizbig is that this edition completely lacks color pages of any sort and when comparing the colored panels to the not colored panels, they end up looking worse in comparison.Physical QualityThis is probably the biggest sticking point when comparing this to the Vizbig. After comparing it to some of the other manga I own (primarily my three volume Fullmetal Alchemist series) the physical quality of this edition is actually quite the norm. If you come in expecting that level of quality, then there really isn't a problem. However, when compared to the Vizbig version, this suffers quite a bit. The book is smaller and in paperback, meaning that it is more likely to get damaged. It also means that some of the images can be slightly harder to see when compared. The page quality is also a down grade from the Vizbig. Its a lot thinner, increasing the risk of tearing as some of the other reviews mention. However, main thing concerning the paper is its visual quality. The paper has a gray tint to it that is lacking in the Vizbig version. Coupled with the smaller size of the book, it makes it slightly harder to read when compared to the Vizbig.CensorshipThis first volume seems to be censorship free. This was my major sticking point with Vizbig. They had censored out things like nudity and obscene gestures. This version lack such annoyances, though oddly they still censor the bit where Bulma gives a middle finger. It is also worth mentioning that the dialogue in this is the same as that in the Vizbig. I have heard that the this version of the manga censor stuff in the future, though I haven't gotten to that point myself.Overall, I think the best way to consider these two versions is that the 3-in-1 is a uncensored, standard edition of the Dragon Ball story while the Vizbig is a censored, high quality collector's edition. If you keep these facts in mind while getting either of these versions, then you shouldn't be disappointed.(Post Script: Another thing to mention is that the 3-in-1 is slightly cheaper then the Vizbig, meaning that if it's a pricing thing, then this is the best one to choose)

Pleasant
I don’t know what it is but this manga puts a smile on my face when I open it. It’s so pleasant and if you know the anime then you know the story. It’s a very lovely product and if you’re a dragonball fan then you’ll love this.

I want the adult version damn it!!!
I love dragon ball but I'm looking for complete uncut original translation. This is not it. It has some parts censored and they talk like American morons. I buy anime Japanese stuff to get away from this American lameness. Also parents keep giving this a bad review. It's not dragon balls fault Americans took an adult show and made it for kids. I give five stars only cause it's a great story but Americans wrecked it
